When natural disasters strike, should damaged electrical systems be repaired or replaced?

When electrical systems are impacted from floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, earthquakes, or other natural or man-made disasters, electricians are tasked with a critical decision about whether the electrical equipment that was damaged can be salvaged or not.Use NFPA’s “Natural Disaster Electrical Equipment Checklist” that builds off of recommendations in Chapter 32 of the 2019 edition of NFPA 70B, Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance.
